Nothing might ever replace Interstate 10 through the San Gorgonio Pass in the event of an emergency, but many changes are needed so a 25-mile backup like one last month never happens again, Riverside County and state lawmakers said Thursday.
“We’re making lemonade out of lemons here,” said Assemblyman Brian Nestande, R-Palm Desert.
