The only noise breaking the stillness of the desert surrounding Chuckwalla Valley Raceway is the whir of two-dozen motorcycles speeding around the winding ribbon. There are no speed limit signs, no cross streets and no oncoming cars. Just motorcycles flying past as the riders throttle up to 120 mph in the straightaway.
But the day isn’t about speed, though that certainly is a draw.
