Riverside County transportation officials are trumpeting transit benefits associated with the region’s largest road expansion project in hopes of securing a nearly $500 million loan from federal officials.
The plan to build toll lanes along Highway 91 through Corona in the past has focused on adding freeway capacity for commuters driving to Orange County. Now officials also are emphasizing the new lanes as a means of doubling bus service along the corridor.
