Those hoping for a break from construction along Highway 91 in Riverside are going to have to wait a few years.

Commuters are going to face closed bridges and blocked entrance and exit ramps soon as work begins in earnest later this week to widen the freeway from the 60/91/215 interchange west to Adams Street. Crews are adding a carpool lane in each direction to the freeway and reconfiguring numerous ramps and overpasses along the route, including replacing three bridges.
